Dr. Merced

Dr. Dimaris Merced was born and raised in Puerto Rico.  She started her career in veterinary medicine as a

Veterinary Technician.  She got her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Puerto Rico

She continued her education at Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine.  She completed her

Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2013.  Dr. Merced came to the Animal Emergency Clinic

as a new graduate in 2013, knowing from her past experiences that she loved working in emergency

medicine.  She is a great addition to the clinic and is very helpful when a spanish speaking client needs

help when she is there.  She is also our dedicated reptile doctor.

Dr. Merced has always had a love for small animals and reptiles.  She got her first pet rabbit, Edison,

when she was 12 years old.  Her passion for reptiles led her to adopt her first Leopard Gecko,

Cleopatra, in 2004.  She has since added many reptiles to her pet family.  So many in fact that she

has even lost count!!!  She also has several  "fur kids".  Two of her dogs even joined her for

picture day.

Dr. Wallace has had a love for animals since she was a little girl.  Her first pet was a pony, Sugar, that

was a gift when she was 3 years old.  She married her husband, Trent, fresh out of Vet school and they
